Hmmmm...

So today I rollerset my hair with GVP Silk Remedy and I like it... I REALLY liked it! My hair was so smooth and sleek I bet I could get just Saran wrap next time and the results be fiyah. The heavy-ness from the Silk Remedy would make it perfect... We'll see next week.

ROUX MENDEX HAIR REPAIR TREATMENT

SO IVE BEEN HAVING SOME PROBLEMS WITH BREAKAGE AND DECIDED I NEEDED A PROTIEN TREATMENT... ON A SCALE OF 1 -10 I GIVE IT A 9 BECAUSE OF THE PARABENS... I USED IT ON DRY HAIR FOR 10 MINUTES WITH A PLASTIC CAP AND HEAT. I RINSED, APPLIED CONDITIONING BALM, DETANGLED, DC'D WITH PLASTIC CAP AND HEAT FOR 20 MINUTES, RINSED, ACV RINSE, ROLLERSET WITH COCONUT OIL & MOISTURE SPRITZ, DRYER... BEAUTIFUL ROLLERSET, STRONGER HAIR... THINKING BACK I REMEMBER READING SISTASLICKS ARTICLES ON POROSITY AND SHE SUGGEST PROTIEN TREATMENTS, CLEAR RINSES, OR ACIDIC RINSES, TO HELP THE CUTICLE LAY FLAT AND BETTER RECEIVE THE MOISTURE GIVEN TO IT...

Hair on an as needed basis

I was just sitting here thinking about the amount of product I use... Well my thought is; if my hair is well conditioned (protien & moisture) what's the point in doing it sooo often... I'm thinking of washing my hair alot less to see what happens... I'll still moisturize and all that but dc's will be limited... Let's say 14 days to actually wash (baking soda wash). I'll still cowash... We shall see

YES WE DID

WELL ITS HAPPENED.. I LOVE THIS PIC OF THEM TOGETHER AND SEEING THEM GIVES ME HOPE AND GETS ME TEARY EYED EVERYTIME I THINK ABOUT IT.. ITS REAL PEOPLE BLACK LOVE AND SUCCESS ARE REAL!

YOU NOTICE HOW THE NUMBERS CORRESPOND WITH THE DESCRIPTION? LIKE THE NUMBER 1 IS STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN AND THATS HOW STRAIGHT HAIR LOOKS... AND THEN THE NUMBER 3 IS REALLY CURVEY AND SO IS CURLY HAIR.. WEIRD HUH?

BENTONITE CLAY

SO IM NOT REALLY A BAND WAGON PERSON, BUT I THINK THIS STUFF HAS SOME REALLY GOOD BENEFITS... ESPECIALLY FOR THE FACE.. I PLAN ON BUYING THIS AND USING IT ON MY FACE AND HAIR...

What are other uses of Bentonite Clay?
Bentonite can also be used externally, to treat skin problems and for detox baths. Some people have used Bentonite Clay to treat skin rashes with a lot of success. If you have skin eruptions such as acne, you should try applying Bentonite Clay on your skin, as it does a tremendous job of extracting/removing all the toxic matter buried inside your skin.

Bentonite can also be used in a detox bath, where we apply the Bentonite Clay around our body. It helps releases toxins out of our body, and it is a great routine to practice during colon cleansing. SOURCE

TIPS I WOULD GIVE A NEWBIE

Since I'm a long term transitioner, I thought I would list some things I would tell a newbie. These are things that have helped me through this transition so far...

• Months 1-6 listen to your hair! Keep your demarcation line moist as all get out, throw some protien in (mild) often to keep it strong. Don't be afraid of protien it's not bad, just find what works for YOUR hair. Dust when you see splits and such. Keep your scalp clean. Try not combing as often and see how that works. Moisturize and seal twice a day. If you're at shoulder length try to keep your hair up and off harsh fabrics (cotton, wool).

• Months 7-12 if you're like me, by this point your relaxed hair is fighting a losing battle against the natural hair. If your goal is to get alot of length and your ends are healthy, I say hide the scirrors. If you're ready to get that much closer to natural-ness slowly start trimming. You have to make sure you've mentally prepared yourself for the shrinkage but I say the ability to effortlessly switch between straight or curly is worth it.

THESE ARTICLES ALSO HELPED ALOT

I've only reached month 14 so that's all I can say... It does get easier though trust me!

MINI CHOP @ 14 MONTHS

Im getting really tired of these relaxed ends that are hanging on for dear life!!! I see why alot of people BC around the 14 month mark!!! So on Tuesday I did a 1 inch trim, yay!!! The ONLY reason I didn't do the whole thing is because I don't want to deal with alot of uneven-ness. My crown still has alot of relaxer left, so im leaving it be for a little while longer... I haven't had a trim in over a year so it was due time for one... I'm still going to up my protien too, because even after the trim I still had broken hair in the sink... I'm thinking Joico K-pak as well as AO-GPB... BC is planned @ 20 months (July '09)... 6 more months... Until then i plan on
•keeping my hair up and in a baggy
•direct heat April & July (length checks)
•incorperating protien once a week
•restarting Ayurvedic tea rinses
•washing once a week
•dc'ing twice a week

I'll keep ya updated

PROTIEN CONDITIONER

SO IM THINKING THAT THE PROTIEN FROM THE EGGS JUST ISNT GOING TO CUT IT... SO IM LOOKING FOR A GREAT PROTIEN CONDITIONER.. IM THINKING AUBREY ORGANICS GPB CONDITIONER... ITS THE ONLY ONE IVE SEEN THAT HAS THE INGREDIENTS I LIKE... I THINK MY PROTIEN BALANCE IS OUT OF WHACK, WHICH WOULD EXPLAIN THESE ENDS POPPING LEFT AND RIGHT.. WE SHALL SEE.

VERY DISAPPOINTED

SO OBVIOUSLY MY HAIR DOES NOT APPRECIATE BEING FLATIRONED SOOO OFTEN.. WELL I HAVE BEEN DUSTING ALOT TOO... I DONT KNOW.. IM VERY TEMPTED TO BC BECAUSE IM GETTING TIRED OF THESE ROLLERSETS AND I REALLY WANT TO BE ABLE TO WASH AND GO AND DO TWIST OUTS AND JUST HAVE FUN WITH MY HAIR... IM PLANNING ON DOING AN 18 MONTH TRANSITION.. SOOO UNTIL THEN I WILL BE BACK TO MY BAGGIED BUN AND LAYING OFF THE HEAT... SURPRISINGLY I DONT HAVE HEAT DAMAGE, EVERYTHING SPRINGS BACK TO NORMAL, SO I'LL JUST GO BACK TO PLAYING IT SAFE UNTIL I BC OR MEET MY MID-BACK GOAL, THEN I'LL SEE HOW THINGS ARE LOOKING.. AND MY HAIR IS VERY HEALTHY, AND IM AT THE LENGTH THAT I WAS BEFORE THAT WHOLE DAMAGE FIASCO 2 YEARS AGO...
